About Us
Established in 2015, GreenBooks is a full-service bookkeeping social enterprise founded to help other environmental non-profits. Our goal is to help you deliver on your mission without wasting time worrying about the books. We believe that high quality bookkeeping should be accessible to organizations of any size, and strive to provide excellence and value. We specialize in QuickBooks bookkeeping and financial consulting.
What are Social Enterprises?
Social enterprises are businesses owned by nonprofits.
These businesses have an embedded social, cultural, or environmental purpose and they reinvest their profits into their social mission.
GreenBooks, being a social enterprise, operates in the same way. We rely on grants to subsidize wages and costs so that we can support grassroots groups for little to no cost. Any profit GreenBooks’ makes is reinvested into our bookkeeping software and payroll systems which helps keep expenses low for our clients.
Why a Social Enterprise?
Being a social enterprise allows GreenBooks to be a key factor within the environmental nonprofit sector, as we provide bookkeeping support to small-shops that cannot afford a full-time bookkeeper. By organizing the books and helping organizations meet their legal financial obligations, GreenBooks removes the stress of “do-it-yourself” bookkeeping that many small shops experience, thereby allowing them to specialize their remaining resources on their core purpose.
